Become a Member

The Friends of Deer Flat would not be able to achieve nearly as much as we do without our dedicated members. Reach out to us at friendsofdfwr@gmail.com to find out how to sign up to become a member.

Why Become a Member?

Benefits of becoming a member include and aren’t limited to:

  • A discount at the Visitor’s Center Store
  • The opportunity to learn during member exclusive events
  • Unique volunteering opportunities
  • Ability to purchase a personalized brick for the native plants garden

Volunteer

Our world needs people who care. People like you. Make a difference and help make a difference in your community by volunteering with us. Types of volunteers we need vary from those who are willing to dig for an hour in the garden to desk help. There’s room for you to contribute, however you can contribute best.

Champion a Cause

Know of a regulation or event that would benefit the refuge? Help get it in front of an audience or leadership position in the government to create some concrete change in our community. Write us to find out which pending decisions are on our radar if you’d like to take up writing to the local government.

Serve on a Committee

Bring your expertise and passion to the table and vote on important decisions the Board needs to make on how to best allocate our time, volunteers, and funds. Committee positions are often open and not locked to a specific time period so you can participate in the leadership this way at any time there is an opening.

Apply for a Board Position

On a yearly basis a vote is held among members to create a leadership board that is in charge of planning and executing all the events for the upcoming year. If you have interest in a leadership position, keep an eye out for the election time period in December.
