Did you know that there are two pairs of bald eagles that nest on the Refuge at Lake Lowell? In past years, the Friends have sponsored (along with partners: Deer Flat National Wildlife the Refuge and the Peregrine Fund) the installation of wildlife cameras at these nests. The cameras documented the nesting activities of the eagles for the 2015, 2016, 2018 & 2019 nesting seasons.
Early in 2021 & 2022, the Refuge partnered with USGS and CWI to install a camera on the westerly most nest. The camera has documented one chick being raised in 2021 & 2022 by that pair of eagles . In 2022 the same pair of eagles abandoned their traditional nest.
